I have a bullet journal and a lot of stationery supplies that I use with it. Previously, I stored them in several separate, small pencil cases. I soon got tired of having to grab several different cases when I needed to write in my journal and set out on a search for One Case to Rule Them All. So far, this case is handling the job nicely. My only concern when looking at the case online was that the material would be too shiny and thus reminiscent of a 1980’s roller disco outfit. Thankfully, my fears were unfounded. The material is a lovely deep wine color with just a hint of shine that gives it a rich look. The handle is well made and comfortable. On the inside lid are two zippered mesh pockets. From the pictures, I thought it was a short pocket on top and a larger one beneath it that was about twice the height of the top one. Surprise! The top pocket is the longer of the two! It goes from the top, all the way to the bottom of the panel. The second, bottom pocket goes from the middle of the panel to the bottom and is to the front of the one above it. Next, there are three panels with elastic loops to hold pens. I suspect they were intended for colored pencils because the elastic loops are very snug around my pens. I have the usual assortment of pens and pencils used in a bujo like Pigma Microns and Tombow Fudenosuke pens. They fit in the loops but it’s a snug fit. The first panel has 12 single pen loops on each side, for a total of 24. The other two panels are attached with Velcro, so they are removable. Each of these panels have 12 single pen loops on one side and 6 wide loops on the other. The wide loops are for storing large barrel markers but I also use them to store 3 regular sized pens/markers, each. It’s actually easier to place and remove the grouped pens than in the single pen loops. The elastic loops are tight and strong, so you don’t have to baby them or fear they will wear out or fall out within a few months. After the third pen/cil panel is the well of the bag that can be used to store rolls of washi tape, erasers, sharpeners, tape and glue rolls, white out, scissors, etc. This compartment is about 2 1/2 inches deep so you can store quite a bit of miscellaneous items in it. Finally, we come to the final feature that cinched the deal for me: a third mesh pocket running along the entire inside bottom of the bag. This one is zippered from side to side as opposed to at the top. Not only is this an additional dedicated storage space, its mesh offers a bit of protection for and from the items I store in it. I keep my hard plastic ruler and stencils in here to protect them from loose items in the bag’s well and also use it to protect my hands from the scissors I store in it. I believe this bag is the best of the large pencil cases that I’ve found on Amazon. If you need more room than this case provides, you probably need to graduate up to an actual bag.
