Comprising the raw materials and the preparation of writing, copying, and hectographic inks. Safety inks, ink extracts and powders. Coloured inks, solid inks, lithographic inks and crayons.Even if you have never heard of a hectograph but want to know more about how writing ink and the rest were made this an absolute gem of a book. Everything you ever needed to know in order to start your own traditional ink making business at £7 a small bottle! As soon as this book arrived I couldn't put it down as its 229 pages lured me on in what seemed a never ending range of formulations quite easily prepared in the kitchen or shed assuming you can still get hold of some of the raw materials. A translation of a German work and published in the USA in 1892 it just about has everything that a potential ink maker would desire. A very basic knowledge of Chemistry would be helpful but not a necessity.I can't be the only person left in the world who is fascinated by writing ink, so to the other 9 people who share this interest I recommend it with some vigour. Do not procrastinate, get a copy whilst it is still available at a knock down price!
